“Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me”.
Like me, you’ve probably heard or even said this as a child.
We all know words are powerful.
They can be used for good or evil.
I love using my words for the greater good... which is how I ‘stumbled’ into copywriting. I use the word stumbled because I hadn't always set out to be a copywriter, but you’ll know sometimes the path to your purpose isn’t always a straight line.
Fresh out of university, after completing my degree in Social Policy and Management, I landed my first job at an educational software company writing copy for direct mail campaigns, sales emails and other promotional material.
This is where I fell in love with the power of words
It was here that I truly fell in love with the power of words. How words can influence our purchasing decisions by connecting with our emotions and making us feel something.
I later completed a Diploma in Professional Marketing with the Chartered Institute of Marketing, learning different marketing techniques to help the businesses I worked for share and sell their products and services through the power of words.
Words that help people
I’ve always been drawn to change makers who are focused on making an impact first, profit second. Mission-driven companies that are passionate about changing lives are what drives me, because this is the kind of work that means something.
And, if my words can help you make more people's lives better, I feel like I’m fulfilling my purpose. Whether I’m writing mission-led words for your website, communicating your heart in a blog or sharing your story on your socials, I’m playing my part in helping to change lives.
Your mission matters. You deserve to be seen.
Beyond the words
When I’m not writing, I can be found enjoying long walks in parks and woodlands with my family. We’re always making the most of the outdoors.
I'm also the creator behind RachelLovesCreating, a small business selling inspirational digital wall art.
